1. Have you shown the video Using the Trust to the Council?
  yes
2. Duration of the plan: (Plan proposal must be submitted each year)
  Single Year
3. School's identified most critical need(s) addressed in this plan:
Please check only the primary area(s). Improvement in some academic areas may improve all other academic areas but if the goal is to improve reading (or technology), only check that area.

•  Mathematics
4. Briefly describe the school plan.

4. a What you will do and how the money will be spent to improve student academic performance (be specific).
We will be saving approximately $6000 to help refresh our K-1 lab in 2011.  This is a lab above the number our district supports in an elementary school.   Our K-1 lab is used primarily for our SUCCESSMAKER software which directly supports our mathematics and writing goals.

In addition to providing grade-level writing opportunities, field trips provide application for grade level math concepts, including time/distance/money  (measurement goal).  We will use $3,000 to help with bus costs incurred in core-related field trips:

Kindergarten:  Hoogle Zoo - use words to describe distance, represent quantities using concrete objects,  and simple graphs, animals in the local environment, observe, describe and compare animals, describe how animals care for their young, distinguish between real and make-believe animals.

First Grade:  Farm - .  RDT: use a calendar, express and appreciate art.   Treehouse Museum - collect/organize simple data, literature, fairy tales.

Second Grade:  Hill Air Force Base and Waste Management Plant - length, telling time, relate goods and services to resources within the community.  Centerville Community  - estimate/measure length, tell time, goods and services, resources within community.

Third Grade:  Children's Theater -  compare length, weight, capacity, determine duration of time, describe/compare attributes, express/appreciate art, music performing, viewing media with purpose.  Aquarium - describe two/three dimensional objects, earth/moon tides, living/nonliving organisms.

Fourth Grade:  Red Butte Gardens - determine perimeters, attributes of two-dimensional shapes, classifications.  UT  Museum of Natural History - symmetry, study of fossils.  This is the Place State Park - grids/maps, Utah history, pioneer life.

Fifth Grade:  Utah Symphony - real-world problems involving measurement, time, money, express and appreciate art, listening.  Timpanogos Caves - distance, changing earth.  Church Museum of Art and History - recognize measurements are approximations, westward expansion.

Sixth Grade:  Hansen Planetarium - explore the relationship between radius and diameter, appearance/phases of the moon, effects of Earth's tilt, attributes of objects in solar system.  Ballet/Opera Company - geometric shapes, changing scale influences appearances, analyze/describe, evaluate art's significance,

Teachers have requested elbow cameras, digital video camera, two additional projectors, and speakers for our labs.  These tools will aid them in classroom and lab instruction.

Two of our grade levels have requested videos, listening station materials,  and news magazines to support writing instruction.

Our Media Specialist was given $1000 to purchase books and AV materials which will support health, writing, and math goals.
4. b Your committee's specific goals for student improvement.
Health:  We will maintain the Platinum Level in the Gold Medal Schools Program.
