How academic improvement was measured
Beginning and ending measurements were done through the State Testing Program (CRT)mandated by the State to be administered at the end of the year. Reading curriculum is aligned to the Core objectives adopted by the State. They used the QRI tesing results given as a pre-test and post-test. Percent of students being on grade level in reading has increased since using land grant trust money.

Most successful part of the plan.
The impact was that it created better readers, gave us more students reading at grade level and created a home library. It enabled us to have smaller student groups being taught by teachers and assistants and gave us more books. Seeing students acheive and being able to read better and enjoy reading was an exciting experience and watching adult volunteers working with the students.

What did not work as well as expected.
The building did not have adequate space for reading groups and reading home library which caused problems in placement of books and did not provide enough space for volunteers to work. We are trying to find more space to turn into a tutoring room or a home library room.

How the plan was publicized.
The committee went over their plan and grant with the School Board and Superintendent and the plan was also advertised in the local newspaper.
