Teachers were able to work with smaller classes and help with instruction and assessment better. Test scores in the state core and SAT all improved. Teachers were able to have staff development brought to the school for their instructional level and also go out for literacy training in the state. We helped with the employment of a reading specialist in our school. She was able to coordinate testing, staff development, volunteer reading and many other programs for reading in our school. She also worked with small groups of students in first and second grade to move them up to grade level. We had a very successful first year for this program.
