Continued funding of the School LAND Trust Program in your school depends on the support of elected officials. It is important that you share your plan and your successes in improving student achievement through meetings, letters and calls to policy makers. When elected officials hear from your council about the impact of these funds, they are more likely to keep the funds flowing to your school to address the unique academic needs of your students.

Please also send a letter to those who represent you in Congress. Their support is essential to accomplish land exchanges into more economically productive lands. SITLA also depends on the Congressional delegation for policies and practices that allow the school lands to produce revenue.
