David Ure serves as director of the Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration, SITLA, which is an independent agency managing the state’s 4.5 million acres of surface and mineral estate on behalf of the public education system and other state institutions.
Mr. Ure leads and directs all operations and administrative functions of this independent state agency, including oil and gas, mining, surface, and real estate development projects.
A dedicated public servant, Mr. Ure served 14 years in the Utah Legislature, seven years on the Summit County Council, and six years on the SITLA Board of Trustees. He has served and continues to serve in leadership roles and for several important associations, committees, and boards, including the Weber Basin Water Conservation District.
Mr. Ure is a proud Aggie, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural science from Utah State University. He is a fourth-generation dairy farmer in the Kamas Valley, and his wife Mae, is a schoolteacher at South Summit Elementary School.
